EMAN HANGS WITH IMPRESSIVE XPS FIELD

Date: Tuesday, October 25, 2011

NORWALK, Oh. September 25, 2011:  The Extreme Pro Stock class gave ADRL fans a taste of the best drag racing has to offer at this past weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags. Despite losing two qualifying attempts due to contrary weather, the class was separated by a mere 66 thousandths of a second from number 1 (4.045) to number 16 (4.111) qualifier. Trevor Eman landed the Aruba.com/Alltel Mustang in the number 9 spot with a 4.096 at 176.86. In round one Eman sent Brian Gahm back to the trailer on a hole shot victory (4.147 to 4.143).

Unfortunately for the gang from Aruba, they fell on the wrong side of the ladder and were paired with points leader Cary Goforth in round two. In round one, Goforth had backed up his 4.045 E.T. record with a 4.069. Although Eman stayed consistent with a 4.141 and had Goforth on the light by nearly 2 hundredths, it just wasn’t enough to take on Goforth’s powerhouse numbers, as he posted another sub 4.10 run (.038, 4.141 to .054, 4.077).

“We had a good weekend and feel we have nothing to hang our heads about,” told Eman. “Cary and his guys are making some incredible passes. I want to congratulate them on setting a new world record. It is just a privilege to run with such an awesome group of racers. There’s no denying that XPS is the toughest class to compete in. Even though we lost two qualifying sessions because of Friday’s rainout, the class was incredibly tight.

“It was great to have Alltel with us again this weekend. We need more non-automotive sponsors in drag racing and it’s good to see companies like Alltel take an interest in our sport and our team. They’re a huge help to us and we were excited to have them out this weekend.

We are disappointed about not making the Battle for the Belts; I think we missed it by just one round.
But, we are happy that Richie Stevens and the CarSafe guys were able to lock in the 8th position. They are great guys and we will be cheering them on in the Shootout.

“Now our focus is on the season finale. We want to make the last race of the season our best one. We will never stop working toward our first ADRL victory. I know it is right around the corner for our team.”
